Mrs. Edith Lawson Maris, an employee
of the Indiana State Hospital for Chest Diseases died at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday in
Vermillion County Hospital, Clinton. She was a member of the Retired Employees
Club of the hospital and member of Rockville Christian Church. She was born in
Parke County on April 28, 1888, a daughter of Daniel and Susan Lawson. She
married Raymond Maris on Sept 3, 1906. He died Dec 23, 1953. Surviving are 3
daughters: Mrs. Lucille Thompson and Mrs. Alta Jackson; and Mrs. Clara Reed
Covington; 7 grandchildren 20 greats; 4 great greats. Services will be at 2
p.m. Saturday in Butler Funeral Home; burial in Tangier Cemetery. Friends may
call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday. – transcribed by kbz
